Essex Front ports are built from the highest grade of Plexiglas available. Lower quality Plexiglas doesn’t machine or mill very well and this shows in the final product. All of our front ports start out with a laser cut faceplate to insure that every front port will fit the housing that it was designed for. A cast Plexiglas tube is used to house the lens and cast Plexiglas is much stronger than extruded. Essex has developed a zoom control system that is silky smooth and easy to use. This zooming system can be used with most of todays zoom lenses, the 70-200mm lenses are very popular as are the 16-35mm, 10-22mm and the 24-105mm.

Essex has pioneered an extra wide zoom gear that Velcros to the lens and this helps to make it much easier to position the gear and it also prevents slippage.

Our domes for our dome ports are injection molded in to a polished aluminium mold, making for a near perfect dome. We can custom make a dome in almost any diameter and height configuration for those photographers that want to do over and under photography or other special effects.
